Bulldozer bearings are key components that ensure efficient and stable operation of equipment, and their performance needs to match the requirements of "heavy load, strong impact, and multiple pollution" working conditions. Different types of bearings are applied to systems such as walking, transmission, and working devices based on their structural characteristics, achieving power transmission and motion control by supporting rotation and reducing friction. In daily maintenance, reasonable lubrication, sealing protection, and avoiding overload are the core factors in extending the life of bearings, which directly affect the construction efficiency and operation and maintenance costs of bulldozers.
Bulldozers, as heavy machinery used in engineering construction for earthwork excavation, site leveling, mining operations, etc., have the characteristics of high load, strong impact, high dust, and severe vibration in their working environment. Bearings, as the "joints" of core components such as transmission, walking, and working devices of bulldozers, play a crucial role in supporting rotating parts (such as gears and shafts), reducing friction, and transmitting loads, directly affecting the operational efficiency, stability, and service life of bulldozers.
High load-bearing capacity: It needs to withstand the axial and radial composite loads during bulldozer operation, especially the bearings of the walking mechanism and working devices (such as the shovel lifting mechanism), which need to cope with instantaneous impact loads.
Wear resistance and pollution resistance: There are impurities such as sediment, gravel, and oil in the working environment, and bearings need to have good sealing performance and wear resistance (usually using special lubricants and sealing structures).
Long life design: To reduce maintenance downtime, bearings need to be optimized in structure (such as strengthening roller strength and improving cage material) to extend their service life.
Due to the harsh working environment of bulldozers, bearings are prone to damage due to pollution, insufficient lubrication, or overload. The following maintenance points should be noted:
Regular lubrication: Shorten the lubrication cycle according to the working conditions (such as high dust and humidity), use high-temperature and extreme pressure resistant lubricating grease (such as lithium based grease), and avoid impurities from entering.
Sealing inspection: Check whether the bearing seals (such as oil seals and dust covers) are intact to prevent mud and sand from entering the interior of the bearing (for example, if the seal of the track bearing fails, it is easy for the track to jam due to mud and sand wear).
Timely replacement: If any abnormal noise, heat or vibration is found during the operation of the bearing, it should be stopped immediately for inspection. When replacing, the original factory or compatible model should be selected (such as tapered roller bearings, which need to be installed in pairs)
