The outer diameter is slightly larger than the shaft diameter, and the width is designed according to the force requirements (usually 1/3-1/2 of the shaft diameter). Part of the collar has threaded holes (for installing fastening screws) or key slots (connected to the shaft through flat keys) to enhance the fixing strength with the shaft; The surface is often treated with rust prevention (such as galvanizing, blackening) to prevent rusting in humid environments. Main categories: Fixed collar: a structure integrated with the shaft (formed by forging or welding), commonly used in key shaft components such as transmission shafts and drive axles, with high positioning accuracy, suitable for scenarios that withstand large axial forces. Detachable collar: an assembled component independent of the shaft, divided into: Tightening screw collar: Fixed by pressing 1-2 tightening screws (with pointed or flat ends) against the surface of the shaft, the structure is simple and easy to disassemble, but the positioning strength is low, suitable for light load or temporary positioning (such as auxiliary limit of guide wheel axle). Clamping type collar: It is composed of two half rings connected by bolts, with the inner hole and shaft interference fit. After clamping, it generates radial force for fixation, without stress concentration (compared to tightening screws).
